Real Weddings: Vavine & Michael

Vavine & Michael's Stonebarn Wedding

Vavine and Michael tied the knot at Stonebarn on 19th September 2024. Their wedding story is beautifully represented by Shannon Stent Images in this wedding blog.

It all began back in 2022 when Michael proposed in the Blue Mountains. Michael made Vavine wait until the new year to start wedding planning officially.

As soon as she got the chance, Vavine started researching venues trying to find one that best suited them. After attending a few of the wedding expos around Perth she realised quickly that she didn’t want to have her wedding in Perth because she didn’t like any of the venues on offer. She then started looking at venues located in the South West and that’s when she found Stonebarn. Following a look at the Stonebarn website they both knew it was meant to be. Once they came and viewed Stonebarn and confirmed their date was free they immediately booked it and everything else just fell into place.

Indeed the main reason they chose Stonebarn over other wedding venues is that it is situated on the Warren River. Vavine and Michael often go on fishing trips down south and fish in the Warren River. In fact, they had fished all the way up to Stonebarn many times before without realising it was Stonebarn.

They booked the 2 night mid-week wedding package: https://stonebarnweddings.com.au/packages-hire/ They stayed from Wednesday through to Friday. They travelled down the day before the wedding with their bridal party. This gave them time to setup everything the day before the ceremony. They used our arbour, church pews and wooden benches free of charge and hired some of our gladiator white chairs for their ceremony at the Upper Clearing.

As the ceremony did not take place until 3pm, they had all morning to get themselves ready for their special day.

Courtney Leigh Hollins did Vavine’s makeup.

Luxe Hair By Priscilla and Elle Ryan Hair styled Vaine’s hair.

Flowers Forever After created the beautiful bouquets.

Ceremonies With Bryanna presided over the ceremony at the Upper Clearing. Where Zenata Van Zyl worked alongside Shannon Stent Images to capture the special moments on video.

They hired furniture from The Dunsborough Event Co for the cocktail style reception on the verandah.

Uncle Sam’s Smoke Shack catered the delicious food.

Vavine and Michael made the most of the multiple locations at Stonebarn by moving the celebrations to the Gazebo after everyone had finished eating, toasting and playing bride & groom games.

Consequently, the Gazebo become their dance floor, overlooking the the truffle trees and Warren River. As they had hired Stonebarn exclusively for themselves and with no curfew, they spent the rest of the night dancing without having to worry about a set finish time.

Above all, Viv remembers her special moments as watching all the guests arrive on their wedding day and sneaking off into the cellar to have dinner with her husband for the first time.

In particular, Michael recalls his special moments as having his photo with his new wife by taken by Shannon Stent Images at the many beautiful locations on the estate. He remembers looking back at the lodge and seeing all their guests enjoying themselves.

Viv tells us that the venue really did make the wedding amazing “It was such as vibe and so beautiful. Everyone loved it. It made it very easy to plan everything because of the space and we had the whole venue to ourselves.”

Thank you so much Viv and Michael for sharing your wedding experience at Stonebarn with us. We wish you lots of love and happiness on your new venture together.
