Anna and Fin married at Stonebarn on 11th March 2023. Thanks to Victoria Baker Photography, we have shared their wedding story below featuring Victoria’s amazing photography.
Anna and Fin discovered Stonebarn just by googling wedding venues down south. Luckily they organised their site visit of Stonebarn in February 2020 just before everywhere locked down due to COVID. They knew Stonebarn was the perfect location for them straight away. They wanted a rustic style wedding and Stonebarn fits this style beautifully.
Anna and Fin booked our 5 night package as not only was it a 7 hour drive for them to get to Stonebarn, they also had family coming over from England and New Zealand so they wanted to make it worth their stay. They wish they could have stayed even longer!
Anna and Fin travelled to Stonebarn on the Wednesday and their wedding wasn’t until Saturday. They had plenty of time to relax and appreciate the surrounds. They did all the decorations themselves and these extra days gave them time to set everything up for their big day.
Their wedding ceremony was not until 1pm on the Saturday. Anna had all morning to get ready at her leisure. Allure Beauty & Co did her hair and makeup in the bridal suite.
Dion for Brides made Anna’s beautiful dress.
They held their ceremony at the Upper Clearing. Anna and Fin chose the Upper Clearing so that their guests could all walk there from the lodge. They could also use the Lower Clearing for parking. Anna was driven as close as possible to the ceremony before walking down the aisle. Plus the view from the Upper Clearing is amazing overlooking the trees.
For the ceremony they used the Stonebarn arbour, church pews, wooden benches, signing table and chairs all free of charge. Manjimup Florist supplied the flowers.
They were married by celebrant Chris Johnson.
They held their reception back at the lodge, where they hired Stonebarn’s trestle tables and chairs to create a beautiful set-up on the verandah.
Smoking Bull BBQ created a mouth-watering menu and an amazing feast for all their guests.
A friend made the awesome wedding cake.
Kombi Keg provided all the drinks.
As there is no curfew at Stonebarn, Anna and Fin hired 4 of our gas heaters so that guests could party into the night on the verandah without feeling the chill of the March evening. Jonny Reid provided the live music.
Another reason Anna and Fin chose Stonebarn was for the many different locations around the Stonebarn estate. Victoria Baker Photography took amazing photos of Anna and Fin with varing backdrops, including The Old Bridge and The River.
Anna tells us “the whole day was a standout moment. It went exactly as we had planned and wanted, just seeing everyone have a great time and everyone comment again on the location, it truly was a magical day for everyone. So thank you!”
Thank you so much Anna and Fin for sharing your Stonebarn wedding experience with us. We wish you all the best on this wonderful journey, as you build your new lives together.
